Supported File Formats

The system currently accepts the following file types for Knowledge Base documents:

  • .docx (Microsoft Word Document)
  • .txt (Plain Text File)
  • .md (Markdown File)

Ensure your files are saved in one of these formats before attempting to upload. Processing focuses on extracting text content.

Best Practices for Document Preparation

To ensure optimal processing and retrieval by AI agents, consider these preparation tips:

  • Clear Structure: Use headings, subheadings, lists, and clear paragraphs.
  • Clean Content: Remove unnecessary formatting, images (as only text is processed), and comments that aren't relevant knowledge.
  • Focused Content: Ideally, each document should cover a specific topic or process clearly.
  • File Size: While specific limits aren't stated, extremely large files might take longer to process or encounter issues. Check the 'Tokens' column after upload for size indication and consider splitting very large documents.

Steps for Uploading Documents

Follow these steps to add documents to the central Knowledge Base:

  1. Navigate to the Knowledge Base section from the main menu.
  2. Select the Upload tab or area.
  3. You can either drag and drop your files (.docx, .txt, .md) onto the designated area or click to browse and select files from your computer.
  4. The system allows you to select and upload multiple files at once (batch upload).
  5. Once selected, the upload process will begin for each file. You will see progress indicators.

Successfully uploaded documents will appear in the 'Documents' list within the Knowledge Base section after processing is complete.
