Viewing and Filtering Your Document List

When you navigate to the Knowledge Base section, you'll see a list of all the documents you've uploaded. This list provides several tools to help you find what you need:

  • Search: Use the search bar at the top to quickly find documents by their title.
  • Filter: Click the filter options to narrow down the list by File Type (e.g., pdf, txt, md) or by the specific AI Voice Agent the document is assigned to.
  • Sort: Click the sort dropdown to arrange documents by Title (alphabetically) or Creation Date (newest/oldest).
  • Pagination: If you have many documents, use the page navigation controls at the bottom to browse through them.

The list displays key information for each document, including its Title, assigned Agent(s), File Type, Size, estimated Tokens, and the Date it was created.

Performing Actions on Documents

Clicking the vertical dots menu (⋮) on a document row reveals several actions:

  • Preview (Eye Icon): Click the eye icon to open a modal window displaying a text preview of the document's content. This helps you quickly verify the information inside without downloading the file.
  • Edit Title (Pen Icon): Click the pen icon to modify the document's title. This is useful for correcting typos or making names more descriptive.
  • Download (Download Icon): Click the download icon to retrieve the original file (e.g., .docx, .pdf, .txt, .md) that you uploaded.
  • Delete (Trash Can Icon): Click the trash can icon to permanently remove the document from the Knowledge Base.

Warning: Deleting a document is permanent and cannot be undone. Ensure the document is no longer needed before deleting. If the document was assigned to any agents, you will need to update those agents' configurations separately.

Understanding Document Processing Status

When you upload documents, they need to be processed before they can be used by your voice agents. This involves extracting text and indexing the content.

Currently, the user interface doesn't show a specific 'Processing' or 'Ready' status per document in the main list. Generally, if a document appears in the list without errors, it has been successfully processed and is available for your agents. If an upload fails, it typically won't appear in the list, or an error message might be displayed during the upload process.
